On March 10, 2025, the Cineteca Nacional<\/strong> hosted the 31st edition of the Claqueta AMCI Awards<\/strong>, an event that honors the talent of students from the Mexican Association of Independent Filmmakers (AMCI)<\/strong>. Year after year, these awards celebrate the work of a new generation of filmmakers who are beginning to carve out their path in the audiovisual industry.<\/p>\n As part of its commitment to supporting emerging talent, EFD Studios<\/strong> had the honor of presenting the Best Cinematography Award<\/strong>, recognizing the visual excellence and sensitivity of the selected projects. This year, the award was shared by Mel Ram\u00edrez B<\/strong> for Mortal Herida<\/em> and Tania Guti\u00e9rrez \u201cPixie\u201d<\/strong> for Who\u2019s In Control<\/em>.<\/p>\n The award was presented by Genaro de la Cruz<\/strong>, Technical Manager of EFD Studios\u2019<\/strong> Camera Department, who congratulated the winners and emphasized the importance of cinematography as a fundamental pillar of cinematic storytelling.<\/p>\n A Night Filled with Talent and Recognition<\/strong><\/p>\n The ceremony, hosted by actress Laura de Ita<\/strong> and AMCI\u2019s Director General Pedro Araneda<\/strong>, was marked by emotional moments and well-deserved recognition. One of the most memorable highlights of the night was a tribute to<\/strong> Sergio Corona<\/strong>, an actor and comedian with more than 60 years of experience in film and television.<\/strong> His remarkable legacy, including roles in Como dice el dicho<\/em>, Esta historia me suena<\/em>, and Hasta que el dinero nos separe<\/em>, was warmly celebrated by attendees, who applauded his outstanding contribution to Mexico\u2019s audiovisual industry.<\/p>\n Highlights from the Night\u2019s Winners<\/strong><\/p>\n In addition to Best Cinematography, AMCI awarded prizes across several categories:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Future of Mexican Cinema<\/strong><\/p>\n Founded in 1993 as the first private film school in Mexico, AMCI<\/strong> has become a cornerstone in the training of filmmakers.
